SPARC Vice President and Cumberland site manager Tom Moore, second from right, took part in the recent groundbreaking for a new multi-purpose service center and training complex at Laurel Highlands Council’s Camp Potomac in Oldtown, Maryland, which has served as a flagship camp for generations of local Scouts since 1946.  Mr. Moore and SPARC are among a group of benefactors providing financial support for this project, which will significantly improve camp and expand opportunities for youth development in this rural, six-county area of far western Maryland and West Virginia. Mr. Moore serves as the volunteer summer camp program director for Camp Potomac’s “Scouts at Work” program where teenage youth can receive an immersive experience in potential professional and trades careers like engineering, robotics, law, aviation, welding, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.  SPARC is proud to support Camp Potomac and the Scouts at Work program.
