2024 OBH Benefit 5K
SPARC Research employees again walked or ran in the OBH Benefit 5K. This is the 3rd year that SPARC has participated in this event. Fun was had by all participants and the money raised went to a good cause. Thanks to Old Busthead for putting on this wonderful community event.
2024 Park Adoption – Vint Hill Farms Park
SPARC Research has officially adopted the Vint Hill Farms Park! We are proud to be the first company in the county to enter into a partnership with the Fauquier County Parks and Rec. Our employees will conduct regular park cleanups, help with plantings at the park and will assist on other projects as needed. We’re looking forward to making a difference in this community park that is located right around the corner from our building.
2024 Flip for the Fight
SPARC Research is once again proud to have supported the annual Flip for the Fight Invitational. During the past 15 years of this program, participants have raised $110,000 for the Virginia Breast Cancer Research Center, the Anne Clark Dollard Research Foundation and the Step-Sisters organization in honor of those who have fought, who are fighting and have lost their battle to this disease. Congratulations to all of the wonderful gymnastics programs who have participated over the years. 2023 Community Service – Warrenton Christmas Parade
Once again, SPARC Research was honored to be a sponsor of the Warrenton Christmas Parade. The beneficiary of this year’s parade was Hero’s Bridge for their dedication in serving elderly veterans, age 65 and older. The organization helps bridge the gap between veterans and a better quality of life through age specific and innovative programs. These services are available to our heroes wherever they call home, at no expense to them or their families.
2023 Community Service – Donation to First Ashville Baptist Church
When employees at SPARC Research learned of the vandalism and destruction of the First Ashville Baptist Church where our very own Mike Lewis is a deacon, we joined together to help. Employees took up a collection which was then matched by the company. We are proud to support the FABC Renovation Project!
2022 Community Service – Warrenton Christmas Parade
SPARC Research was happy to participate in the Annual Christmas Parade and to be a Twinkling Tinsel parade sponsor!
2022 Community Service – 2nd2NUNN Donation
SPARC Research was proud to support another local small business in their endeavors. 2nd2NUNN Sports is an independent non-profit organization that supports positive principles and leadership through sports.
2022 Community Service – Willing Warriors clean up
SPARC Research participated in the 2022 Beautification Day clean up at the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run, a 37 acre facility welcoming the wounded, ill, and injured warriors and veterans, and their families.
2022 Community Service – Fauquier Free Clinic
In January of 2022, SPARC’s very own Michele Daniels-Shenk helped arrange dinner for the volunteers at the Fauquier Free Clinic.

Old Bust Head 5K
SPARC Research was proud to participate in the Old Bust Head 8th Annual Benefit 5K Walk/Run in Vint Hill, Virginia to benefit Finley’s Green Leap Forward.
Highland School Kindergarten
Dr. Hewitt shares his passion for science and math by partnering with the local schools and going into the classroom to teach. Last month he proved it’s never too early to gain a love of STEM by giving the Highland School Kindergarten class a lecture on engineering!
Kettle Run High School
Students at Kettle Run High school proved that this pandemic would not halt their progress and education through a rigorous, year-long AP Research project on a topic of their choosing. In celebration of the completion of their projects and oral defenses, a dessert celebration was held for the students, their mentors, and families. It was a great opportunity for the students to mingle and share the results of their hard work. SPARC Research’s Angel Royston mentored senior student, Peter Tessier, on his project titled, “How Likely Are Teenagers To Support Funding For Nuclear Energy?” Pictured left to right are students Ashley Hume, Mohammad Sarsour, SPARC Research’s Angel Royston, and student Peter Tessier.
Little Hearts Charity
Little Hearts Charity was asked to provide 500 bags of food a month for June, July and August for 500 Fauquier School children. SPARC Research was happy to be a part of this effort.
Little Hearts Backpacks
SPARC Research was proud to team up with Little Hearts Backpacks to provide school supplies for students in Fauquier County.
Highland Fairy Garden
SPARC Research funded this project, consisting of 6×6 timber edging, drainage trenching, playground mulch, gravel path, etc.
