SPARC Research seeks a Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Warrenton, VA. Our position requires the ability to work with various materials, tools and equipment, in support of manufacturing operations for delivery of products to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Technician will support Engineering with the development of manufacturing processes for new products; define facility and equipment needs; help to establish safety requirements for processes, equipment and facilities. Partner with engineering and operations to help develop procedures required for equipment and processes; train operators and technicians on equipment and manufacturing processes, as needed. Support developing preventative and routine maintenance planning for equipment and facility. Support development and execution of materials receiving, storage, and shipment based on program requirements. Participate in lean manufacturing applications such as 5S, value stream mapping, and standard work development. Support safety checks and maintain PPE requirements in the operations area.
Requirements
Our position requires a high school degree or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Assist with application of lean principles
- Ability to coordinate with other team members regarding product design requirements, specifications, and manufacturing methods
- Satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, which requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing safety, hand tools, energetic materials, chemicals, manufacturing systems and quality planning.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level
- Travel to customer facilities (<10%)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and requirement documents
