Tom Moore is the Vice President of Programs and Business Development at SPARC Research, where he is responsible for the successful execution of selected programs with DoD and industrial customers, as well as providing leadership for the company’s marketing, bid and proposal, and business growth initiatives. Tom has 40 years of propulsion and defense program experience with Hercules Aerospace, The Johns Hopkins University, and Northrop Grumman and its legacy companies. Before joining SPARC, Tom served as the Director of Tactical Propulsion Development Programs at Rocket Center, WV. He was also the inaugural Director of the Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC).
Tom holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University (WVU) and an M.S. in Technical Management from The Johns Hopkins University. He is an Associate Fellow of AIAA, Distinguished Eagle Scout, and was elected to the Academy of Distinguished Alumni of the WVU Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering. He has authored multiple papers on the historical U.S. solid rocket industrial base.
Tom and his wife, Jan, have four adult children. In their leisure time, they enjoy travelling, hiking, and camping around the country with their golden retriever Theo.
SPARC Research is located in Warrenton, VA in the heart of Fauquier County. There is easy access to the Washington DC Metro area, Dulles Airport, and the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park.
