SPARC Research was founded in 2018 to advance state-of-the-art rocket and airbreathing technology development, preliminary design, and prototype demonstration using modern Multiphysics modeling tools. With industry leading years of combined experience in rocket propulsion, SPARC’s personnel create relationships with customers that are built on trust. 

Working with established propulsion suppliers, missile prime contractors, and Government laboratories to provide unique design solutions to demanding propulsion requirements, SPARC Research provides unbiased technical analyses and design solutions that our customers can count on. SPARC Research currently has 25 full-time employees, numerous interns, and consultants, and is still growing. The SPARC team as a whole represents a combined 500+ years of experience in rocket propulsion and government contracting.

SPARC Research is in need of a Finance, Program, and Procurement Assistant  to join our team in Warrenton, VA. Our position requires an entry level of experience in finance and procurement.  

Job Responsibilities  

The Finance, Program, and Procurement Assistant must be prepared to multi-task as they will be expected to work on multiple projects at the same time. Responsibilities will include assisting the Director of Finance with day-to-day activities, program execution, and procurement activities. Responsibilities may include processing and paying invoices, collecting financial data, preparing appropriate spreadsheets, and assisting with procurement activities.

Requirements  

This is an early career position and does not require a college degree.  The position requires a high level of confidentiality, experience with QuickBooks Online, basic accounting and bookkeeping skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and the ability to work independently, plus handle concurrent projects and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with budgeting, reconciling, and accounting for funds
  • Knowledgeable about reviewing, analyzing, and preparing financial reports
  • Ability to prepare and handle a variety of correspondence
  • Experience maintaining strong relationships and long-term purchasing agreements with suppliers and vendors
  • Ability to compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders to ensure there are no discrepancies
  • Experience with integrated master schedules (IMS)
  • Buyer experience, issuing purchase orders, and working with vendors is a plus
  • Proficiency with data entry
