Alan Bedsworth joined SPARC Research in March 2026 as Manager of Business Development, establishing and leading a new function within the company. Before joining SPARC, Alan built a 12-year career spanning engineering, flight testing, and program leadership. His roles included Unmanned Systems Flight Test Engineer, High-Speed Air-Breathing Propulsion Engineer, and, most recently, Site Lead and Program Manager for Northrop Grumman in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This breadth of experience gives him a practical understanding of both highly technical work and the collaboration needed to turn new opportunities into successful programs. Alan earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he was active in several student organizations, including the Experimental Rocket Propulsion Lab and Radio Control Airplane Club, and also served as a resident advisor.
Outside of work, Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and preparing to welcome their daughter. He is also an avid automotive enthusiast who competes in autocross, where precision, focus, and a love of engineering come together behind the wheel. When he is not at an event, he enjoys boating, diving, and tackling home renovation projects.
