[Warrenton, Virginia, October 1, 2025] SPARC Research, an AS9100 certified aerospace engineering services small business headquartered in Warrenton, Virginia, with additional offices in Cumberland, Maryland, today announced that it has secured a $30.44 million prime contract, — with an additional $3.45 million option, from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Aerospace Systems Directorate at Edwards Air Force Base, California  (FA9300-25-C-6023) to manage the rapid design, development, and testing of an extended range 2.75-inch solid rocket motor. This 24-month prototype demonstration program is designed to address an urgent military need for the U.S. and allied nations.

Matthew Cornwell, SPARC President, said, “We are very honored to receive the largest contract in our company’s history from AFRL, and appreciative of the trust placed in the SPARC team to execute this important, quick-turn prototype demonstration effort for AFRL, the Department of War, the Government stakeholder team, and our allies.  This award is emblematic of SPARC’s core values, focusing on customer, people, agility, and results, and continues our record of growth and stature in the rocket and missile propulsion engineering community.”

Work on this contract will be conducted in Warrenton, Virginia, Cumberland, Maryland and selected contractor facilities throughout the United States, — with expected completion by September 2027.
