SPARC Research seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Warrenton, VA. Our position requires experience in process design, operation and implementation, and a knowledge base of rocket motor propulsion designs.

Job Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer will help to develop manufacturing processes for new products and opportunities; define facility and equipment needs; help to establish safety requirements for processes, equipment and facilities; establish procedures required for equipment and processes; train operators and technicians on equipment and manufacturing processes, as needed. Experience with Statistical Process Control, capacity analysis, and PLC programming is desired.

Requirements

Our position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial engineering or an appropriate equivalent discipline, and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and requirement documents
  • Working knowledge of 6S, lean principles, and statistical process control
  • Ability to coordinate with other team members regarding product design requirements, specifications, and manufacturing methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, which requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with energetic materials
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level
